Empowering Communities
The intricate web of relationships, interactions, and behavioural patterns that emerge among groups have a profound influence on how individuals communicate, collaborate, and engage with one another.
Whether it be a local community group or a government department, when people come together to work collectively certain barriers inevitably arise.
Having spent most of my life being a member of groups I’ve noticed the same issues come up again and again, irrespective of the groups make up.
Even the most capable teams can hit roadblocks. You might notice:

Group Sessions

In many spaces where people gather to work, learn, or support others, conversation becomes functional. We exchange information, make decisions, move quickly from one task to the next. Yet beneath these practical exchanges sit quieter stories: ideas about identity, belonging, difference, power, and worth. These stories shape how we listen, how we speak, and how we understand one another, often without being fully seen.
Unhemmed Hearts offers facilitated spaces where groups can pause and explore these threads together. Through dialogic workshops, participants are invited into a slower kind of conversation. Rather than teaching fixed answers, the work centres on shared inquiry, curiosity, and the recognition that meaning is something we create together. Assumptions can be gently unpicked, perspectives widened, and new understandings allowed to emerge.
The aim is not to resolve complexity or smooth over difference, but to create conditions where people can remain in dialogue with it. In these moments of thoughtful conversation, groups often discover new ways of relating, listening, and working alongside one another.Unhemmed Hearts is an invitation to follow the loose threads of experience and see where they might lead

Add an overline text
The Workshops I offer are best suited to organisations who are interested in reflective dialogue and deeper understanding of personal and social experience. Previous groups have included:
Educational
Educational or social sector groups exploring themes such as gender, inequality, identity, or belonging.
Community
Community organisations interested in reflective group conversations that highlight invisible power dynamics and barriers that emerge whenever groups form.
Work
Workplaces and teams wanting facilitated dialogue around culture, communication, or inclusion
A different focus
Many therapeutic group workshops focus on fostering inclusion and participation with the underlying aim of promoting productivity and improving performance.
Unhemmed Hearts facilitates spaces which enable reflective exploration of individual and collective experience. Themes that may emerge allow for a deeper understanding of the complex social dynamics that influence us. These may include :
How can difference be embraced?
Why do power hierarchies inevitably emerge?
How do our identities change when in a group?
