Our lives are made up of countless threads

Paying attention to the threads that make up our past isn’t about getting lost, it’s about recognising how those threads continue to shape us, and how we might begin to relate to them differently.

When we do, something shifts. We’re no longer carried by what’ already been woven, we can start to take a more active role in what comes next.

Some threads we draw closer.

Other we loosen, or gently unpick, especially when they’ve become tight or restrictive. And there are always new threads available to us too, through experience, through relationships, through change.

We are not separate from what has come before. Our lives are shaped over time, through what we’ve lived AMD what we’ve inherited. But that doesn’t mean the pattern is fixed. It remains open, still in the process of being woven.

The work is not to start again, but to stay with the threads that are already here, and to begin weaving with more awareness. Noticing what we carry, what we choose and how our lives continue to take shape.

Brief Psychotherapy by design .

Unhemmed Hearts is a relational practice rooted in the belief that experience is not something to be corrected, reduced, or neatly categorised.

Threads of connection.
Threads of memory.
Threads not yet sewn.

This work is not about being analysed or fixed. It is a collaborative unfolding — a shared slowing down in which meaning is co-created through relationship.

.This is a reflective, time-limited practice. It offers contained moments of conversation or writing, designed to support clarity and understanding without the expectation of ongoing therapy.

Flexible Formats

One to One, written or video exchange. Book one format or a combination.

Focused

Therapy when you want it. Book a one off session or short series.

Evidence led

Personalised approach drawing on evidence led modalities

Single session

A one-off session offering a space to slow down and reflect on a particular experience, question or decision.
This can be helpful of you’re feeling stuck or uncertain about something.
Or if you want to reflect and process a specific experience
and would value a safe, nurturing space to support you.

This is a standalone session. There is no expectation of future bookings.

Short Series

Book a short series of sessions if you’d like a bit more time to explore what’s going on for you at present. This might be working through a transition, or reflecting on patterns, thoughts and feelings that suggest something needs processing.
You don’t need to have a specific question or experience you want to work on – sometimes just giving yourself the time and space you need to truly connect with yourself can allow for insight to emerge.
Not sure how many sessions to book? Thats totally understandable. We can think about this together in the free consultation. I’m here to help with this – you don’t have to figure this out this alone.

Is this right for Me?

There are times in life when therapy can provide the space and support needed to help people navigate difficulties and/or relieve mental distress.

This may be a period of bereavement, when having a dedicated space to express and process feelings of loss can make a meaningful difference.

It could also be during times of transition such as moving home, changing jobs, or navigating other life shifts that bring stress and uncertainty.

People may seek short-term therapy when they are experiencing a sense of unease, disconnection, or feeling out of step with themselves, and want a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what they are carrying without the expectation of a long-term commitment.

For example, you may look capable from the outside while privately feeling exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Common issues I treat:

  • Racing mind, inability to be in the present
  • Constant pressure to perform, often self imposed. Feeling guilt for resting
  • Using work, alcohol or relationships to avoid sitting with feelings
  • Finding social events exhausting due to having to perform
  • Comparing to others, often resulting in ‘I need to do/be more…’ Or ‘Im not x enough’
  • Persistent sense of worthlessness.

Flexible formats

I offer a variety of formats you can choose to have all the same or to combine. Some clients have reported having the first and last session as a written exchange as particulary helpful. Read more here.

One to one în person

In person sessions take place in London only. Usually East, but occasionally West. 50 minutes, book a single session up to maximum of 10 sessions at any time.

Written exchange

You write me a letter, I read it and send you a reply. 50 minutes (my reading and replying) . Single-session up to a maximum of 10.

One to One online

Via Zoom/teams. Timezone GMT. 50 minutes, book from a single session up to maximum of 10 sessions at any time.

.

Video/Audio exchange

You record a video and send it to me, Ill record one back in response. 50 minutes time in total (my watching and replying).

Notes:

*for written and video formats, the time you spend writing/recording is not considered in the 50 minutes session time.

*If you book a series of 5 sessions you can choose whichever formats you wish. Some clients have shared that opting for a written exchange as either the first and/or the last session is particularly benefical as it enables them to clarify their goals/reflect on insight gained.

*There is no strict rule on how long your written/recorded format should be, however, the time it takes me to read/watch what you send will be deducted from the 50 minutes session time. So if you send a 40 minute video youll only get a 10 minute long response.

There are many points in life when brief psychotherapy can feel particularly supportive.

It may be during a period of bereavement, when having a dedicated space to express and process feelings of loss can make a meaningful difference.

It can also be helpful during times of transition such as moving home, changing jobs, or navigating other life shifts that bring added stress and uncertainty.

More broadly, people may seek short-term therapy when they are experiencing a sense of unease, disconnection, or feeling out of step with themselves, and want a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what they are carrying without the expectation of a long-term commitment

A Space to untangle knots of limiting beliefs

Unhemmed Hearts is designed to support insight and encourage you to carry that forward into your everyday life. The aim is not to create reliance on the therapeutic space, but to strengthen your ability to engage with your own experiences and relationships beyond it.

Unhemmed Hearts places a strong emphasis on empowerment, supporting you to connect more meaningfully with yourself and with others in ways that reduce the need for ongoing professional support.

At the same time, therapy offers something distinct from everyday conversations, a dedicated space where depth, reflection, and understanding can unfold in ways that may not always be possible elsewhere.
